Morena Bernardini joined MBDA in February 2023 as the Group Secretary General.
She started working on the Ariane 5 programme in 2009 as a mission analyst before working successively in the Institutional Affairs and the Launcher Strategy departments at Airbus Defense and Space, and then at Airbus Safran Launchers, which became ArianeGroup. In particular, she actively contributed to the implementation of the new European governance of launchers and to the “commonalities” between Ariane 6 and Vega C, the new generation of European launchers.
In 2016, she joined Thales Alenia Space, where she worked on satellite constellations in the field of IOT (Internet of Things), and on projects on mobility in orbit.
She came back to ArianeGroup in 2019 as Strategy and Innovation Director, where she contributes decisively to strengthening the sovereignty of access to space for Europe and to renewing the European ambition in terms of inhabited flight.
Morena is an astronautical engineer and a graduate of the Aerospace and Astronautical Engineering School at La Sapienza in Rome and of INSEAD (Alliance Management).
