MPCV ready to enter production
MBDA is in the process of freezing the final definition of the MPCV (Multi Purpose Combat Vehicle) in readiness for its series production. Two Mistral missile firings carried out at the end of 2009 served to validate this automatic system in its air defence configuration. This definition freezing represents the final technical step before moving into series production which should be launched in the very near future.
In parallel to preparing the system for production, MBDA is finalising the software development of MPCV’s various functions, in particular its integration within a command and coordination network via the MCP (Mistral Coordination Post) command and control system (C2) also conceived and produced by MBDA. The totality of these functions will be validated in spring and autumn 2010.
Initial MPCV development is based on the Sherpa 3A all-terrain armoured vehicle manufactured by Renault Trucks Defense as well as VHF PR4G-F@stnet communications by Thales Communications. In parallel to these developments, MBDA is actively working on adapting the MPCV to meet the specific needs of several export customers.
MBDA est en train de figer la définition matérielle de série du nouveau système de combat polyvalent blindé MPCV (Multi Purpose Combat Vehicle). Deux tirs de missiles Mistral effectués à la fin de 2009 ont permis d’achever la validation de ce système automatisé dans sa configuration de défense antiaérienne. Ce gel de définition constitue l’étape technique ultime avant la production de série, qui doit être lancée très prochainement.
En parallèle à la préparation de la production, MBDA finalise le développement logiciel des différentes fonctions du MPCV et, en particulier, son intégration dans un réseau de commandement et de coordination, au travers du système de commandement et de contrôle (C2) MCP (Mistral Coordination Post), également conçu et produit par MBDA. L’ensemble de ces fonctions doit être validé au printemps et à l’automne 2010.
Le développement initial du MPCV s’appuie sur un véhicule blindé tout terrain Sherpa 3A de Renault Trucks Defense ainsi que sur des communications VHF PR4G-F@stnet de Thales Communications. Parallèlement à ces développements, MBDA travaille à l’adaptation du MPCV au profit de plusieurs clients à l’export.
MBDA ist zur Zeit damit befasst, die endgültige Definition des MPCV (Mehrzweck-Kampffahrzeug) zur Herstellung der Serienreife festzuschreiben. Mit zwei Ende 2009 durchgeführten Mistral-Flugkörperschüssen wurde dieses automatische System in seiner Luftabwehrkonfiguration validiert. Die Festschreibung dieser Definition ist die letzte technische Stufe vor dem Übergang zur Serienfertigung, die in allernächster Zukunft anlaufen dürfte.
Parallel zur Vorbereitung des Systems für die Serienfertigung schließt MBDA ebenfalls die Softwareentwicklung der verschiedenen MPCV-Funktionen ab, insbesondere seine Einbindung in ein Kommandoführungs- und Koordinationsnetz über das MCP (Mistral Coordination Post) Steuer- und Kommandoführungssystem (C2), das ebenfalls von MBDA konzipiert und gefertigt wurde. Die Gesamtheit dieser Funktionen wird im Frühling und Herbst 2010 validiert.
Die ursprüngliche MPCV-Entwicklung baut auf dem gepanzerten Geländefahrzeug Sherpa 3A von Renault Trucks Defense sowie dem VHF PR4G-F@stnet Kommunikationssystem von Thales Communications auf. Parallel zu diesen Entwicklungen arbeitet MBDA aktiv an der Anpassung des MPCV an den jeweiligen spezifischen Bedarf mehrerer Exportkunden.
MBDA sta per definire la versione finale del veicolo da combattimento multiruolo MPCV (Multi Purpose Combat Vehicle) per la produzione in serie. I due lanci Mistral effettuati alla fine del 2009 hanno convalidato il sistema nella sua configurazione per la difesa aerea. Questa fase rappresenta lo stadio tecnico finale prima del passaggio alla produzione in serie, che verrà avviata a breve.
Parallelamente alla preparazione del sistema per la produzione, MBDA sta per finalizzare lo sviluppo software delle varie funzioni del veicolo MPCV, concentrandosi in particolare sull’ integrazione all’interno di una rete di comando e coordinamento tramite il sistema di comando e controllo MCP (Mistral Coordination Post) (C2), anch’esso ideato e prodotto da MBDA. Tutte queste funzioni verranno convalidate nella primavera e nell’autunno del 2010.
Lo sviluppo iniziale del veicolo MPCV si basa sul veicolo corazzato all-terrain Sherpa 3A prodotto da Renault Trucks Defense oltre che sulle comunicazioni VHF PR4G-F@stnet di Thales Communications. Contemporaneamente a questi sviluppi, MBDA sta lavorando attivamente per adattare il veicolo MPCV in modo che soddisfi le esigenze specifiche di vari clienti internazionali.
