FASGW(H) / ANL joint assessment phase
MBDA welcomes the announcement by the United Kingdom and France of the Joint Assessment Phase to develop a common solution for the next generation of a European helicopter anti-surface weapon.
Commenting on the pronouncement, Antoine Bouvier, Chief Executive Officer said: “FASGW / ANL is an excellent example of a co-operative programme whereby two separate legacy systems developed in the UK and France respectively are to be replaced by a common capability in this sector under the leadership of MBDA. This joint assessment phase is a clear demonstration of the added value an integrated defence company can bring to its customer nations; with MBDA helping both France and the United Kingdom to share their requirements to the benefit of their Armed Forces.” This next phase also signals the considerable progress being made by Team CW.
In response, Steve Wadey, Managing Director of MBDA UK, said: “The joint assessment phase for FASGW / ANL reinforces the benefits of Team CW in the delivery of advanced missile systems capabilities that our Customers demand. The FASGW / ANL project is a major component within the Team CW Assessment Phase, which was launched by Baroness Taylor in July 2008 and is now in its second year of operation.”
The joint FASGW / ANL project will benefit from MBDA’s experience as Europe’s integrated missile system company with an established record of delivering multinational co-operative programmes such as Storm Shadow, PAAMS and Meteor.
MBDA se réjouit de l’annonce par la France et le Royaume-Uni de la phase d’évaluation conjointe visant à développer une solution commune pour la génération future d’armements antinavires tirés d’hélicoptère.
Réagissant à l’annonce officielle, Antoine Bouvier, PDG de MBDA a déclaré :
« Ce programme est exemplaire en ceci qu’il vise à remplacer par une solution commune deux systèmes développés auparavant en France et au Royaume-Uni. Cette phase d’évaluation commune démontre, s’il en était besoin, la valeur ajoutée qu’une société de défense intégrée comme MBDA peut apporter à ses nations clientes en aidant la France et le Royaume-Uni à partager leurs exigences pour le plus grand bénéfice de leurs forces armées. »
Cette nouvelle phase qui démarre, atteste également des progrès réalisés par l’initiative Team Complex Weapons au Royaume-Uni, comme le souligne Steve Wadey, Managing Director de MBDA UK :
« La phase d’évaluation commune de FASGW/ANL renforce les avantages que Team Complex Weapons peut apporter à notre client en termes de capacités avancées de systèmes de missiles. Le projet FASGW/ANL est une composante majeure de la phase d’évaluation de Team Complex Weapons qui a été lancée par la baronne Ann Taylor en juillet 2008 et se trouve à présent dans sa deuxième année d’exécution. »
La coopération ANL/FASGW bénéficiera de l’expérience de société européenne intégrée dans les missiles que possède MBDA avec des succès multinationaux comme les programmes SCALP / Storm Shadow, PAAMS et Meteor.

Chief Executive Officer Antoine Bouvier kommentierte diese Nachricht wie folgt:
„FASGW/ANL ist ein ausgezeichnetes Beispiel für ein Kooperationsprogramm, bei dem zwei bereits eingeführte Systeme – das eine in Großbritannien, das andere in Frankreich entwickelt – durch ein gemeinschaftliches System unter Leitung von MBDA ersetzt werden. Diese neue Phase spiegelt auch den beträchtlichen Fortschritt von Team CW wider. Steve Wadey, Managing Director von MBDA UK, erklärte hierzu:
„Die gemeinsame Bewertungsphase für FASGW/ANL stärkt die Vorteile von Team CW bei der Lieferung moderner Lenkflugkörpersysteme, die unsere Kunden verlangen. Das FASGW/ANL-Projekt ist ein wichtiger Teil der Team-CW-Bewertungsphase, die im Juli 2008 von Baroness Taylor eingeleitet wurde und sich nun im 2. Jahr befindet.“
Das gemeinsame FASGW/ANL-Projekt wird von der Erfahrung von MBDA als integriertes europäisches Unternehmen für Lenkflugkörpersysteme profitieren. MBDA hat sich bereits bei multinationalen Kooperationsprogrammen wie Storm Shadow, PAAMS und Meteor bewährt.

Il passaggio a questa fase dimostra inoltre il notevole progresso raggiunto dal Team CW. Steve Wadey, MD di MBDA UK, ha risposto : “La fase di valutazione comune del progetto FASGW/ANL conferma i vantaggi derivanti dal Team CW nella consegna delle capacità tecniche per sistemi missilistici avanzati richieste dai nostri clienti. Il
progetto FASGW/ANL è un elemento essenziale nel contesto della fase di valutazione del Team CW, lanciata dalla Baronessa Taylor (segretaria al Procuremet UK) nel luglio 2008 e attualmente nel suo secondo anno operativo”.
Il progetto comune FASGW/ANL trarrà un importante beneficio dall’esperienza di MBDA come principale produttore europeo di sistemi missilistici integrati, con un primato
consolidato nella consegna di programmi collaborativi multinazionali quali Storm Shadow, PAAMS e Meteor.
