Etienne Galan named Chief Executive Officer of Roxel SAS
Etienne Galan is appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Roxel SAS, Chairman of Roxel France and Member of the Board of Roxel (UK Rocket Motors) Ltd, from 1st September 2020. He replaces Jacques Desclaux, who is retiring.
After having worked for 6 years at the DGA – aeronautical maintenance then industrial strategy – Etienne Galan joined Liebherr Aerospace in 1996 as Quality Director then Industrial Director. In 2000, he joined Snecma * where he participated in the implementation of new information systems, then he took on the responsibility of the Integrated Production Unit Forge. In 2006, he became deputy to the Industrial Director, in charge of strategy and continuous progress, before being appointed Director of the “Rotating Parts” of Industrial Excellence Centre in 2008. Etienne Galan was appointed Quality Director at the end of 2011 and Purchasing Director of Snecma * in 2013.
In 2015, he was appointed Quality and Continuous Improvement Director of Safran, where he orchestrated the One Safran initiative, which aims to spread the culture of performance within the Group.
Etienne Galan is a member of the Performance Review Institute Board of Directors since 2012, and Chairman of this board since 2018. He is also a member of the Board of Martin Baker France, JV between Safran and Martin Baker.
Etienne Galan, born in 1965, is an alumni engineer of Ecole Polytechnique and Sup ‘Aero in France.
Etienne Galan’s industrial expertise and managerial experience within Safran Group are the major assets that will allow Roxel to meet all of its commitments under the most favorable conditions. Etienne Galan will be able to strengthen the confidence of stakeholders and Roxel employees and pursue the actions that will be necessary to develop the activities of Roxel Group.

Etienne Galan est nommé Président Exécutif de Roxel SAS, Président de Roxel France et membre de la Direction de Roxel (UK Rocket Motors) Ltd, à compter du 1er septembre 2020. Il remplace Jacques Desclaux, qui fait valoir ses droits à la retraite.
Après avoir travaillé pendant 6 ans à la Direction Générale de l’Armement – maintenance aéronautique puis stratégie industrielle – Etienne Galan entre en 1996 chez Liebherr Aerospace en tant que Directeur Qualité puis Directeur Industriel. En 2000, il rejoint Snecma* où il participe à la mise en place des nouveaux systèmes d’information, puis il prend la responsabilité de l’Unité Intégrée de Production Forge. En 2006, il devient adjoint du Directeur Industriel, chargé de la stratégie et du progrès continu, avant d’être nommé Directeur du centre d’excellence industrielle ” Pièces Tournantes ” en 2008. Etienne Galan est nommé Directeur Qualité fin 2011 et Directeur des Achats de Snecma* en 2013.
En 2015, il est nommé Directeur Qualité et Amélioration Continue de Safran, où il orchestre l’initiative One Safran qui vise à diffuser la culture de la performance au sein du Groupe.
Etienne Galan est membre du Conseil d’Administration de Performance Review Institute depuis 2012 et Président de ce Conseil depuis 2018. Il est également membre du Conseil d’administration de Martin Baker France, co-entreprise entre Safran et Martin Baker.
Etienne Galan, 55 ans, est ingénieur diplômé de l’Ecole Polytechnique et de l’ISAE Sup’Aero.
L’expertise industrielle et l’expérience managériale d’Etienne Galan au sein de Safran sont les atouts majeurs qui permettront à Roxel de tenir l’ensemble de ses engagements dans les conditions les plus favorables. Etienne Galan saura raffermir la confiance des parties prenantes et des collaborateurs de Roxel et poursuivre les actions qui seront nécessaires pour développer les activités du Groupe Roxel.
