Berlin, June 2026 — MBDA, the European leader in complex weapons systems, and the Ukrainian defence company Ukrainian Armor have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), launching a strategic partnership discussion aimed at developing advanced defence capabilities in the fields of Deep Strike and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS).

The signed agreement establishes a framework for long-term cooperation between the parties, including exploring joint initiatives, knowledge sharing, and collaborative projects aimed at driving innovation and delivering enhanced value. The initial areas of cooperation identified are Deep Strike and C-UAS, both of which are of key importance for ensuring operational superiority in high-intensity conflicts. The exchange of technological expertise, development of joint production programs and introduction of innovative solutions will ensure the operational superiority in high-intensity conflicts and be the basis for close collaboration with the envisaged goal of establishing a Joint Venture. At the same time, these areas represent only part of a broader strategic partnership program and of which further details will be announced in due course.

MBDA is committed to supporting the defence industry in Ukraine, ensuring the autonomy of Ukrainian capacities, and will substantially contribute with profound experience and expertise in the development, production and support of missile systems.

For its part, Ukrainian Armor contributes substantial practical experience in the design, development, integration, and production of a wide range of defence products, including armored wheeled vehicles, mortar systems, ammunition, artillery shells, unmanned ground and aerial systems, as well as related components.

This agreement reflects the shared intent of MBDA and Ukrainian Armor to leverage their respective strengths and expertise to address emerging opportunities and challenges for the Ukrainian Nation. Building a new architecture of defence cooperation that combines European technological expertise with Ukrainian battlefield experience, manufacturing flexibility, and innovation potential.
