We play an active role in building the Europe’s defence industrial base, not just through technology, but through talent. In 2024, there were over 2,300 new employees across the group and we have plans to recruit an additional 2,600 in 2025.
Continued investment in STEM capability across Europe is preserving and developing essential skills for decades to come, and our award-winning early careers programmes support graduates and apprentices, nurturing the next generation of defence innovators. We’re also strongly committed to supporting the wider defence community. As an example, in 2024 alone our employees in UK volunteered 1,900 hours to support veterans.
Parallel to our commitment towards the defence communities, we are also convinced that having and nurturing strong and trustful relationships with our Supply Chain is key to guarantee sovereignty and reinforce our own resilience and scale.
On a UK-focused perspective, in 2024, we spent £590 million across a robust UK supply base, including over 1,200 suppliers, 740 of which are SMEs, representing approximately 23% of our UK spend. This concrete work to build a solid Supply Chain is done across the whole group, with in total +4.000 suppliers to help us delivering cutting-edge solutions
