Building a Culture of Innovation and an Entrepreneurial Spirit
Working together with our current and future potential partners, MBDA has developed a unique set of tools and techniques that aim to foster both individual creativity and team innovation.
We have a specific focus on developing communities and tools that support a collaborative approach to solving our customers’ problems and improving the company environment.
Through its Innovation Programme, MBDA seeks to encourage creativity and innovation in every function, project and directorate. The programme promotes and organises collaborative workshops to address the complex issues we meet.
IDEA and Innovation Labs
All employees are encouraged to share their problems and share their ideas with each other using our IDEA platform. Every year we launch an Innovation Challenge called Innovation Labs, the most promising ideas receive funding to transform their idea into a development project.
In both cases, ideas are supported in dedicated Innovation Arenas equipped with Fab Labs, virtual reality rooms and data studios, and the deployment of agile methods. All our innovation activities strengthen our entrepreneurial spirit, enhancing our collaboration and willingness to progress within the company.
“To grab the full benefits of innovation, MBDA has put in place organisations and processes that span across its activities, engaging our employees to share knowledge, experience and best practices fitting with our vision of creating the world’s best complex weapon systems that deliver the right capabilities to our customers.”
MBDA Innovation Awards
A Group-level initiative that is organised annually, the Innovation Awards are the pinnacle of recognition for the very best of innovation in our company. They celebrate the calibre of world-class technical mastery and domain expertise that MBDA people have in every area of our business. A proud and strong demonstration of our capabilities and skills, they establish new reference points for our competitors to aspire to, so they can compete with MBDA on the global market.
Smart Visions
This initiative’s goal is business-oriented. Working on tomorrow’s weapon systems, products, applications, businesses or approaches, employees become intrapreneurs, turning innovative business ideas into reality.
Along the way, they develop their leadership skills, embarking on an adventure to promote change, build trust, encourage collaboration and inspire others.
