MBDA at IMDEX ASIA 2025 - A strong and long-term commitment with Singapore

5 May 2025

Events

From May 6th to 8th 2025, at Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore, MBDA will be present at IMDEX ASIA 2025 Booth n°L03, to showcase its expertise on complex advanced weapon systems, supporting Singapore defence needs (Air Defence & Maritime), and highlight its solid cooperation with Singapore.

Started several decades ago, the commitment of MBDA with Singapore armed forces is no longer to be demonstrated, and covers several aspects. As a trusted and key partner, MBDA provides them the most relevant complex weapon systems for all threats, plus also develops and consolidates support solutions around maintenance activities, to protect Singapore assets and reinforce their resilience.

Skill sharing activities are also an important part of this cooperation with some dedicated training provided by our Missile Systems University department (MSU).

MBDA commitment with Singaporean armed forces will be strongly strengthened, with the opening by the end of 2025 of a local office in Singapore. A good way to reinforce the synergy between the country and MBDA, and to prepare the future.

What we will be showcasing

Among the innovative complex weapon systems presented on the booth, tradeshow’s attendees will (re)discover the ASTER missiles family. Cornerstone of naval and land based air and missile defence programmes, the ASTER family comprises ASTER 15 for short to medium range and ASTER 30 and its evolutions B1NT for short to long range.  ASTER's terminal dart allows the missile to be lightweighted, highly manoeuvrable and agile. Equipped with a high-performance active RF seeker, the missile is capable of high manœuvres, thanks to the unique combination of aerodynamic control and direct thrust vector control called ‘PIF-PAF.

Other product presented on the Air Defence zone, the VL MICA NG:  this short-range system – land-based application of the MICA air-to-air missile – allows the interception of a threat within a radius of 40 km and up to 9 km of altitude. This system was set up for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, demonstrating its ability to counter various types of threats, in a variety of environments, particularly in the civilian field, to protect citizens during an international sporting event.

Last but not least for the Air Defence zone, the presence of the Hit to Kill (HtK) system. This new effector consists of a drone and a ground station with a touch-screen tablet to operate the system. It combines efficiency, accuracy, collateral damage control, compactness, and the ability to neutralize interference-resistant drones, through the energy generated during the kinematic impact on micro or mini drones.

On the Sea zone, the focus will be made on one of its most emblematic product family: the EXOCET, in service with several navies around the world, and notably the EXOCET MM40 B3C. Exocet MM40 is moving to the next generation to meet our customers’ requirement for high-intensity warfare, including a new state-of-the-art seeker and enhanced missile algorithms of the B3C version.

Consistently staying at the forefront of innovation, EXOCET remains the Navies’ life insurance at sea, whenever, wherever and in any weather conditions.
