New milestone for MBDA – the 4,000th Exocet has been out of production
World renowned anti-ship missile family among the large MBDA products range, the Exocet missile has just taken a step forward, by seeing its 4,000th unit released from the factories in France, Center region. This 4,000th unit has been handed over to the French Navy.
To mark this occasion, MBDA has prepared for the 2024 Euronaval exhibition a specially designed model of the 4,000th unit, which highlights the key unique elements from the Exocet. Different colors are used, showcasing among others its reliability, its “fire-and-forget” capability, highlighting that the Exocet is the one and only for all conditions: all weather, all military targets, all electronic warfare (EW) environments, anywhere and everywhere.
This important milestone illustrates the durability of this missile family, its ability to evolve and constantly adapt to the needs of our customers to master naval warfare and ensure sovereignty at sea.
Exocet missiles are long-range anti-ship missiles of the “high subsonic” speed class, which can be deployed from a wide range of platforms, including naval, air or land. Used by 36 countries, these missiles are worldwide recognized for their anti-ship missile capabilities and effectiveness. The family is consistently staying at the forefront of innovation, including game changer technologies, such as the new seeker and the new missiles algorithms of the Exocet MM40 B3C.
Visitors of Euronaval 2024 exhibition will be surely able to discover the latest version of the Exocet family, the new Exocet SM40: a brand new submarine-launched missile for anti-ship and surface warfare. With this newborn, MBDA builds on its expertise to remain the sole European player to provide a unique sovereign capability for submarine, with no equivalent on the market.
