Description
The SmartGlider family constitutes a new generation of air-to-ground tactical strike weapons for the decades to come.
The family comprises two formats of weapon: light and heavy, to cover the maximum number of air-to-ground missions from Close Air Support (CAS) to Air Interdiction and Offensive Counter Air (destruction of enemy air assets on the ground) as well as Suppression and/or Destruction of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD/DEAD).
- SmartGlider Light will allow first-day-entry by saturating and destroying enemy air defences as well as continuing to be the preferred general purpose munition as the conflict progresses.
- SmartGlider Heavy relies on the same glide concept as SmartGlider Light, yet features a significantly larger warhead which is capable of delivering combined high penetration and blast effects. This allows for the engagement of a wide range of large sized targets.
