MBDA signed a MoU with Romarm and Electromecanica Ploiesti

During the visit of French President Macron in Romania on the 24th of August, and in the framework of the Strategic Agreement between Romania and France, the European leader for tactical missile systems MBDA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Romanian state-owned defence group Romarm and its subsidiary Electromecanica Ploiesti.
French President Macron and Romanian President Iohannis witnessed the signature of this MoU.
This Memorandum will allow the three parties to define and present the best French proposal for state of the art tactical missile systems in response to the operational requirements of the Romanian Armed Forces for land based air defence systems. In accordance with requirements set by the CSAT*, this will sustain the development of the Romanian defense industry through industrial co-operation, local production and transfer of technology, in line with the European initiative of Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).
This will also constitute an important step of the reinforcement of the European industrial pillar of NATO.

A l’occasion de la visite du président français Emmanuel Macron en Roumanie le 24 août, et dans le cadre de l’accord stratégique entre la Roumanie et la France, le leader européen des systèmes de missiles tactiques MBDA a signé un protocole d’accord avec le groupe industriel de défense étatique Romarm et sa filiale Electromecanica Ploiesti.
Le président français Emmanuel Macron et le président roumain Klaus Iohannis ont assisté à la signature de ce protocole d’accord.
Cet accord permettra aux trois parties de définir et de présenter aux Forces armées roumaines la meilleure proposition française, basée sur des systèmes de missiles tactiques de dernière génération, pour répondre aux besoins opérationnels des Forces roumaines en matière de défense antiaérienne.
Conformément aux exigences du conseil suprême pour la défense nationale roumain (CSAT), et en accord avec le dispositif européen de Coopération Structurée Permanente (CSP), ce protocole favorisera le développement de l’industrie de défense roumaine au travers d’une coopération industrielle, de production locale et de transfert de technologie.
Cela constituera également une étape importante du renforcement du pilier industriel européen de l’OTAN.
