Arlington, VA. MBDA announced the re-organization of its U.S.-based subsidiary, MBDA Incorporated as a stand-alone national company. MBDA Incorporated’s new U.S. headquarters and team are in place in Arlington, Virginia. The company will now report to its Board of Directors and the MBDA Group as a national company alongside MBDA France, MBDA UK, MBDA Italy and MBDA Germany. MBDA Incorporated is led by its CEO and Chairman of the Board Jerry Agee, who recently restructured the MBDA Incorporated board with new inside and outside directors.
The international launch of SIMBAD-RC, the latest addition to MBDA’s range of naval air defence systems, will take place at the Singapore Air Show (2nd– 7th February 2010). SIMBAD-RC is a remote-controlled, short-range anti-air self defence system providing a highly effective capability against a comprehensive range of threats from combat aircraft and anti-ship missiles to small surface threats such as FIACs.
MBDA has launched the CRISTAL project which aims to further extend the maturity level of the composite material moulding technology from the Carbone Forgé company, as required in order to be able to use it in aeronautical and defence applications. The patented technology should allow automated production of complex shapes to be achieved, using long-fibre and high-performance materials. The objective is to reduce the cost of these parts by 40%, compared to the conventional composite technologies of the layup + autoclave type, and to cover applications in which most of the parts are still made of metal.
Eryx, the infantry short-range fire support weapon, now features new night targeting capabilities and a new training simulator. During its first international evaluation in October 2009, the new Eryx registered eight hits out of eight firings.

MBDA Incorporated today announced the successful demonstration of a Semi-Active Laser Guided Zuni rocket against a moving target at the Navy’s test facilities at China Lake, CA. This firing comes after a successful shot against a static target in May of this year. The WGU-58/B Guidance and Control System developed in cooperation withthe Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD)provides the Zuni weapon precision accuracy.
