SCALP Naval has just completed its series of aerodynamic trials at ONERA’s wind tunnel facility in Modane, France. This milestone was achieved less than two years after the French DGA (Délégation Générale pour l’Armement) notified the development contract for its MdCN naval cruise missile programme in December 2006.
The production series version of the vertical launch container has now been validated.

MBDA and Roxel are setting up a new hypersonic line called METHYLE (a test system for long-endurance hypersonic technologies) in the ramjet test facility of their Bourges-Subdray plant. The system has been developed with support from the European Union (FEDER fund), the Government, the Centre region, the Département of Cher and the city of Bourges.
MBDA has been awarded a £177 million (€224 million) contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to maintain the Royal Navy’s Seawolf air defence system. The SWISS (Seawolf In Service Support) contract, alongside a complementary contract awarded by the MoD to BAE Systems, will sustain the capability of the Seawolf system and ensure its readiness and availability for deployment with the Type 22 and Type 23 frigates over the next 10 years.
