MBDA has been awarded a £177 million (€224 million) contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to maintain the Royal Navy’s Seawolf air defence system. The SWISS (Seawolf In Service Support) contract, alongside a complementary contract awarded by the MoD to BAE Systems, will sustain the capability of the Seawolf system and ensure its readiness and availability for deployment with the Type 22 and Type 23 frigates over the next 10 years.
A new approach to purchasing the UK armed forces’ complex weapons took a step forward today with the launch of an Assessment Phase for Team Complex Weapons (Team CW), an innovative partnership between the Ministry of Defence, MBDA (UK), Thales UK, QinetiQ and Roxel UK Ltd.

The German rocket motor subsidiary of European missile systems group MBDA, Bayern-Chemie GmbH, today completed the sale of its subsidiary Protac SA to Roxel, a jointly owned company of MBDA (50%) and SNPE (50%).
In line with its development work on MILAN ADT- ER, MBDA has successfully conducted a series of three test firings, further demonstratingthe reliability of the new technologies integrated within this new weapon system. The tests involvedthe new ADT (ADvanced Technologies) firing post, manufactured by MBDA Deutschland/LFK, and the new ER (Extended Response) missile, produced by MBDA France.
South Africa has successfully completed comprehensive troop trials with the MILAN ADT (ADvanced Technologies) firing post, developed and produced by MBDA Deutschland/LFK. This was the first operational evaluation of the new, fully digitised MILAN ADT firing post.
